CH Bostonway Bozo on Silt Stone
As you can see be the above picture I do some of my work on various semi-precious stones. In my work I like Mother nature to paint the backgrounds for me, using the natural colours and hues of the stone as the backdrop for my work
Intitionally I was approached by an exporter of jewellery to do some work for him, as I had never done work on cut stone I was curious as to what sort of effects you could get.
Over the past 6 years I've
concentrated mainly on the painting of pedigree dogs, amongst
which have been some of Australias greatest show dogs. I think
during that time I would have just about painted every recognized
breed there is in Australia. My work ranges in size from the
small pendant you see on the left , which is approximately
1" in diameter to the much larger oil portraits
An example of what one of my card clips
looks like is on the right. For that clip I used a translucent
piece of agate that when worn takes on the colour of the persons
clothing.
In
my time I've painted on emu & osterich eggs, timber I suppose
it would be easier to list what I haven't painted on!!.I've even
been asked to paint a portrait on a diamond saw blade.
With the work I've done for exhibitors of dogs and Kennel Clubs in Australia my work has found its way onto 4 continents.
